OUR HISTORY

Wisdom. Guidance. Service.

These three principles have come to define Fellowship Financial Planning and the way we seek to care for the people and families entrusted to us.

After graduating from the University of Idaho in 2008, founder Ryan Heacock began his career with a Wall Street-based investment firm, where he had the opportunity to learn the industry under exceptional leaders and mentors. After being recognized as one of the firm’s top 25 advisors nationally for five consecutive years, Ryan began building a team in 2016 with the addition of Marshall Williams. Marshall quickly became an invaluable partner, helping create the foundation that allowed Ryan and Marshall to transition to independence alongside a group of independent advisors.

In 2019, Ryan became a Certified Kingdom Advisor® (CKA®), providing a formal framework for something that had already become central to his work: helping clients steward their resources wisely while applying biblical principles to everyday financial decisions.

In 2020, the practice became Fellowship Financial Planning. Ryan and Marshall expanded the team, established their own office in downtown Spokane, and began building a firm designed to bring together talented professionals with complementary expertise and a shared commitment to serving clients well.

Over the years, the Lord has continued to provide the right people at the right time. Zach Lipton brought additional expertise in 403(b) plans and Washington State retirement systems. John Kiepe elevated the firm’s investment research and portfolio management capabilities while completing the CFA exams at an exceptional pace. Jon Greene added decades of industry experience and wisdom, while Jon Davis brought CFP® expertise and years of experience with biblically responsible investing. Behind the advisory team, talented executive and administrative professionals have been essential to delivering the level of care and service our clients deserve.

Today, Fellowship Financial's advisors bring more than 80 years of combined industry experience to the families and organizations we serve. The firm has grown to become one of the region’s largest independent wealth management firms, as recognized by the Journal of Business, and has received Forbes recognition in Washington State in 2024, 2025, and 2026.

While much has changed since 2008, our purpose has not. We continue to refine how we serve, strengthen our team, and pursue a high standard of financial planning and client care, while trusting the Lord to provide what is needed along the way.

Wisdom in the decisions we help clients make. Guidance through every season of their financial lives. Service that always seeks to put their interest first.

That is what Wisdom. Guidance. Service. means to us. We are grateful for the trust our clients place in Fellowship Financial Planning and look forward to serving this community, Lord willing, for many years to come and for His glory.

FOUNDATIONAL PRINCIPLES

Wisdom

There’s a distinct difference between knowledge and wisdom. Knowledge is gained through study and experience—understanding facts, trends, and information. Wisdom, on the other hand, is the ability to act rightly on that knowledge. For example, knowledge knows the light has turned red; wisdom hits the brakes. Knowledge sees the quicksand; wisdom walks around it.

At our firm, we are committed to continually learning—studying the economy, the markets, historical trends, the financial industry, your unique circumstances, and God’s Word. But more importantly, we seek the wisdom to apply that knowledge in a way that serves your best interest.

Our goal is to help you not just manage your finances, but to steward them wisely—making thoughtful, informed decisions that align with your values and support a meaningful life.

“For the Lord gives wisdom, from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.”

Proverbs 2:6

Guidance

Change is inevitable—and with it often comes emotion that can influence financial decisions. That’s why thoughtful, steady planning is so important. Our role is to walk with you through every phase of life, offering guidance and perspective that help you navigate both the highs and the lows with clarity and confidence.

We aim to reduce emotional volatility by applying logic, reason, and practical planning to your unique situation. By providing unbiased advice and helping you understand your plan inside and out, we empower you to stay the course—even when life is unpredictable.

The best financial plan isn’t just one that looks good on paper—it’s one you feel confident in, one that brings peace of mind, and one that helps you persevere through every season of change.

“Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety.”

— Proverbs 11:14

Service

At the heart of excellent financial planning is a genuine relationship. Our purpose is to serve you and your family with grace, integrity, and a deep commitment to your best interests. We believe that a relationship built on trust and service is one that will thrive over time.

We prioritize meaningful connection—through one-on-one planning meetings and group events that encourage fellowship and community. As we grow together, we’re constantly learning how to serve you better, staying ahead of the industry and expanding our team with experienced, like-minded professionals to maintain a high standard of care.

Our goal is to build lasting relationships that allow us to understand you more fully, support your life goals, and walk alongside you for the long haul.

“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms”

— 1 Peter 4:10
